Between the 1st and 2nd mile of the Appia Antica: a journey through history

Starting from the so-called “Arch of Drusus”, we will pause at Porta San Sebastiano (formerly Porta Appia) before continuing along the Appia Antica to reach the recently completed excavations at “No. 39”. Along the walk, we will encounter the river “Almone”, the former Cartiera Latina (paper mill), the Tomb of Priscilla, the “Domine Quo Vadis” church, and conclude at the Chapel of Cardinal Reginald Pole.
